ComLibs - Communication Interface Libraries

Base Station and Configurator products use standard and optional Communication Interface Libraries (ComLibs) to provide the software interface to specific types of HART instrument communications equipment.  Multiplexer interfaces allow a continuous physical connection of plant instruments to a Cornerstone maintenance station for remote configuration changes, status monitoring, and automatic configuration tracking.

Standard ComLib - Configurator

Cornerstone Configurator software includes the standard Generic HART Modem ComLib to communicate with a HART instrument via any HART compatible single channel modem connected to a serial port or installed in a PC Card (PCMCIA) slot.

Standard ComLibs - Base Station and Field Station

Cornerstone Base Station and Field Station software include the following standard ComLibs:

Applied System Technologies Intelligent Modem Unit (IMU)
Generic HART Modem on serial port or PCMCIA slot

Optional ComLibs

The following ComLibs are available separately.  They can be used with either Configurator or Base Station to provide the software interface to a wide variety of HART Multiplexer equipment.

ABB Advant/AC400 HART Interface
Allen-Bradley Smart Transmitter Interface (STI) via Data Highway Plus
Allen-Bradley Smart Transmitter Interface (STI) via RS-232
Arcom Control Systems HPORT
Arcom Control Systems HTMUX
Elcon Instruments MUX 1700 HART Multiplexer
Fisher-Rosemount HART interchange
MTL 4840 HART Maintenance System
R. Stahl HART Multiplexer Systems (several models)
Pepperl+Fuchs DFD2-HMM-16 HART Multiplexer

Cornerstone ComLibs are each available in several different sizes, determined by the number of HART instruments that are to be connected to an on-line Cornerstone system.
